Beginning of february 2011 I spent some days in the village after a long long time. Finally the hockey goals reached the ground. They were constructed in the neighbour village, but nobody was able to transfer them to Garh Himmat Singh... They are beautiful and the kids love them because they can hear when they score a goal - and - they don't need to run after the ball any more!!! In my absence all hockey sticks got broken, the 50 sticks from a sponsor in Pakistan stuck somewhere in the customs so hockey in the village stood still for some time.... I saw the boys playing cricket on my hockey ground! That hurts!!! I brought 20 used sticks from Germany and the kids were running and yelling across me to get the sticks and start playing again! The big boys, that were just about to play cricket changed the cricket bat against the hockey sticks... that made me really feel good!!! I saw their skills which are much better then before and I could even make out an understanding for the game - we improve - yeahhhh! In the market we installed the first dust bin - imagine in 2011!!!! We bought an old oil drum and fixed it at an iron construction so that we can empty the bin but nobody can take it out. The construction was concreted in the ground and people started to throw things in it!!! A man run across us from the end of the market asking: Sir - can I have as well a dust bin in front of my shop? Wow - I was speachless - somebody is asking for a dust bin!!!! We ordered 15 and we will get them painted by the kids and then they will look beautiful and sooner or later we will have a clean and even more beautiful village!!!
