From march to end of june we had 2 very engaged volunteers in our village. The two berlin hockey girls Marlene Kenckel (TusLi) and Kristina Fehlauer (Blau-Weiss Berlin) took very much care of the english and hockey classes and came up with new ideas and teaching methods... Even if it was not always that easy, due to circumstances that on the one hand make that village so charming but are on the other hand not really helpful for a continues and structured working like we love to do it in Germany... Anyways - the level of english and hockey improved a lot and we spotted here and there some talents. One of the main attraction during their stay was a day trip with 45 kids by train to the pink city Jaipur where the kids saw the first time in their life a zoo and a real hockey astro turf - what an experience!!!! Wow! In contrast to the beautiful turf in Jaipur, the ground in the village becomes a nightmare. The last heavy rain showers have washed out the stones again and it becomes really dangerous to play, knowing that the kids play without shoes and protectors... Mid april Andrea was for a visit in the village and brought her mom and 2 other ladies from Berlin and her hometown Schwabach. As a present for the kids they brought colourful jumping robes and the kids tried their luck on them before the hockey classes. It was girls day and we could see a really good match - the coaches were more irritated with the dust then the kids, because they anyway don't know other circumstances... I think we can see good improvement and it almost looks like a hockey match...
